My Approach to Executive Leadership Coaching

 Leadership of Self

Executive leadership coaching begins with increasing your self awareness.  Working with me, you will become more intimately aware of who you are, what you value most, and what are your greatest strengths.  This heightened awareness will help you to passionately connect to how you really want to show up in the world.  Click here for a great strengths assessment tool.developed by Dr Martin Seligman, the father of Positive Psychology.  You'll have to create an account first, and it is well worth it.

Increasing your self awareness also means shining a bright light on the parts of you that hold you back.  Ignoring or running from your saboteurs (You know, those gremlins you shower with every morning that tell you you're crazy, not good enough, not smart enough, not buff enough etc.) only makes the scourge of their self-limiting beliefs grip you more tightly.  Together, we will look your saboteurs square in the eye (they don't like that), see them for what they really are (they don't like that either) and ultimately release their stifling grip.  Here's a great, quick saboteur assessment from Shirzad Chamine and the folks at Positive Intelligence.

With an increased understanding of self; your values, strengths, and controlling self limiting beliefs, comes an increased understanding of how you impact others.  Understanding how you impact others is essential to effectively leading others.

Leadership of Others

To paraphrase the iconic leadership mentor John Maxwell, Leadership is using influence to get others to want to do what you want them to do.  Right away, it's clear that the most effective leaders have voluntary followers. If you just want people to do what you tell them to do, you won't find any answers working with me.  If you are looking to tap into that part of yourself that inspires, literally "breathes life into," others, you're in the right place.  Together, we will explore, discover, connect to, and develop the following qualities essential for  leadership development in the 21st Century:
  • Authenticity
  • Vulnerability
  • Trust
  • Honesty
  • Integrity
  • Accountability

Technical Skills

Sure, there are a set of important nuts and bolts skills you can improve to develop yourself as a leader.  I've created three successful businesses, served on multiple non-profit boards of directors, and taken leadership roles in the healthcare organizations in which I've worked.  Along the way, I've learned a thing or two and am happy to share what I've learned as we work to improve your:
  • Communication
  • Goal Setting
  • Time Management
  • Delegation
  • Strategic Planning

Bottom Line: Executive Leadership Coaching is about Transformation AND Getting Results

As your executive leadership coach, I will help you change the way you are "being" with those you lead, so you can take action as a leader that gets the following results:
  • Increased Engagement
  • Improved Customer/Client/Community Satisfaction
  • Increased Efficiency
  • Improved Bottom Line
  • Improved Work/Life Balance
  • A More Fulfilling Life
