How RIM® Works
RIM is a process that uses imagination and body awareness to illuminate the root cause of an issue. Once identified, emotional memory can be regenerated to be positive and affirming. RIM, elicits whole brain function by asking the creative emotional brain to show the way, while the logical brain identifies the words and meaning of what shows up.
As a client, you can't do it wrong. I'll be guiding, yet what you sense is more important than what I suggest. So, if there's a time where what I suggest doesn't feel right, let me know. Your job is to be completely focused on your inner experience and sharing with me verbally. Share spontaneous thoughts. feelings, and body sensations. Everything is welcome.
I will ask you what you want to work on. This can be as specific or big picture as you want or you could just say whatever shows up. Unlike coaching, it's not essential that we have a well-defined topic and if you do, we include it.
Another thing we know through research is that the brain does not distinguish between a real image and something imagined. We have both emotional and factual memory. In RIM, we access the emotional memory. The factual memory remains the same. So, we can actually redo history in terms of our body's memory. The intellectual mind still knows what's actually happened, however, we have a new felt experience in the body.
